I will always remember Carolyn as such a good friend. She was great to be around and she had such a marvelous sense of humor.

As I mentioned, Carolyn, another young woman, Anita McGrady, and I all began our careers together at the welfare department in the early 1970s. Our supervisor, an old school social worker, strict and never smiled always was after the three of us, who were partners in crime.  We were always giggling, and that irritated her to no end.  We always took credit for contributing to her decision to retire.  Her replacement was a young man, about our age.  Not only was he a delight, he let us socialize with him after work.
Carolyn wasn't keen on attending our class reunions.  When we first started in 1984, she adamantly refused to come.  As a member of the committee for years, I made a special plea to her, but it never worked.
Carolyn had always been one of Ricky's favorite classmates.  They had attended South Avondale Elementary together.  Even Ricky couldn't get her to come to a reunion,
Although I hadn't talked with Carolyn for years, just remembering our antics from our youth makes me smile.
