Larry was such an upbeat spirit. I remember him being a cheerleader on our Varsity Cheerleading Squad our Senior Year. He, Chick Judd, Bill Katz and Bruce Bittman rounded out our up until then all women squad. He had great energy, was always positive and game for just about anything.

Larry was also a fixture in Class Plays, Walnuts and Peanuts. After graduation, he was the moderator at our reunion "Talk Arounds". He was talented and I will miss him at this year's reunion.

Larry's memory will always be a blessing. Rest in Peace, dear friend.

I was lucky enough to have known Larry or "Witz" as he was often called back then as a drummer who had the rare gift of being able to make the other players sound good, to literally enjoy themselves while playing the primitive rock'n'roll of that era. Same thing with the "Talk Around" which I remember well from the reunion before last. He was open minded and directed the discussions with a light touch, whether views were congruent or divergent, allowing a thoroughly enjoyable and vibrant conversation. He will be missed by many.

Although I did not know Larry well (I had not seen him since high school), except through working with him on school shows, I considered him a very talented person -- and primarily in this, that he seemed talented in so many different directions.  On top of that, he was just one heck of a nice guy!

(And, I might add, he was often a funny one.  I remember a joke of his from high school that I have shamelessly borrowed ever since:  [Someone to Larry:]  "So, how old are you anyway?"  [Larry:]. "I'm twenty-two.  I would have been twenty-four, but I was sick two years.")

I onlly knew Larry in high school and have fond memories of playing music in stage bands he directed: of course one or two at Walnut Hills and then a great fun band at the Jewish Community Center for their variety show. Bossa nova had just hit pop music so he had us put down our instruments and clap to this new rhythm until we got it. In a related story, last month I spent the morning with a delightul lady I met during the show at JCC while she attended Woodward. Wouldn't have happened without Larry's invititation to play.

I also did not know Larry well but I remember him as a very nice guy, and I love hearing all the stories others have shared - including his joke about being 22 and his drumming. (I'm sorry I never heard him on his drums!) It's sad to lose such a talented person.

He was smart. He was cute. His personality put you at ease. I remember connecting with Larry at an earlier reunion when we were both dealing with Alzheimer's in a close relative. Larry Horowitz was a wonderful combination of bad boy & nice Jewish boy! Engaging, involved & will be missed. One personal memory, and among my earliest, was Larry's grandparents playing cards @ my parents' home regularly, with my grandparents & others from that generation & culture y'all may know & remember. Saying goodbye to so many special people known for so long saddens me. 70's are challenging

I have fond memories of Larry.  He was a good-natured, harmonious, even-keeled, conductor of the Walnuts orchestra, as well as of our reunion discussions.   Along with Mike Wiener, he belongs in the Class of 64's  hall of fame of red-haired good fellows.

I didn't know Larry well but always just liked him. He was a sweet and positive presence and spirit, and I'm very sad he died so suddenly. Another part of the Rick Steiner tribe gone too soon. I recently looked at our last talkaround and appreciated how gracefully Larry moderated the discussion. He had both a deft and a light touch. And a very good heart. He always seemed like a mensch to me. I'll miss him at our reunion in June.
