Below are two links to videos about Rick.

The first is the full length 58-minute video of Rick's funeral service. The Cincinnati Reds organization volunteered to video and produce this. It will serve as a wonderful memorial for all of us. Our classmate, John Osher, delivered one of the eulogies. And, by the way, Rick orchestrated the entire service. It was truly his last production. The service was really a testimonial; where have you ever heard applause at a funeral?

The second is a short 2-minute clip, again produced by the Cincinnati Reds organization. It is a Redsfest video tribute to Rick. Rick ran the Reds' annual poker tournament.

May you rest in peace, our dear friend.

What a wonderful tribute to Ricky. Many of us who attended the funeral were still in shock on that day.  I'm glad to be able to watch again, with the buffer of six weeks, to fully appreciate the outpouring of love for this incredible man.

I will always love you Ricky!!!

I posted this short video of the funeral procession driving by 4044 Rose Hill one final time.

Another video, "Rick Steiner Broadway Memorial Montage 2017", has been created as a tribute to Rick.

(Note: The  presentation of our class Performing Arts Fund plaque to Rick at WHHS on September 16, 2011 is seen at 0:19)

Wish we had a time machine to go back and tell Rick how we loved him. Wouldn't you like to have the Jersey Boys performers at our next reunion?

Looking at the video it's amazzing how much he got done. Major productions, one after another. But even at that there was something at which he excelled even more and that was his generosity. Rick had an instinctive understanding of where something might be needed and didn't wait to be asked. He always made the offer, extended his hand. He is what is really meant by the term "a great man". No big stern looking portrait, no imposing bronze statue, just the real thing. Vaya con Dios, amigo.

SAVE THE DATE

Hi Everyone,

I just saw in the Alumni Chatterbox that on Friday, February 16th, WHHS is dedicating the Black Box theater at the school in memory of Rick. Debbie Heldman, Executive Director of the WHHS Alumni Foundation, will post more information about the dedication on this site as it develops. It seems incredibly fitting that a WHHS Theater should be dedicated in Rick's memory.

As November 3rd approaches, I think about Rick and his two sons quite often. I so miss Rick and his magical personality.I don't know of anyone more responsible for keeping so many people connected than Rick. I am looking forward to attending the dedication and seeing many of you there.

Not only is the Black Box Theatre being dedicated to Rick that evening, but also 'Pippin', the only musical performance of the school year, will be peformed in Rick's honor. I'm planning to be there and hope that as many classmates as possible will come. Perhaps we could plan to get together before and/or after the performance.

Dear Classmates,

This photo of Rick and my mom, age 95, was taken last year during the high holidays at Plum Street Temple. I love the shot of Rick, so warm, happy and impish. it was taken probably just a month or 2 before he died. I miss my lifelong friend so much as I know we all do, what a mensch he was! And what a friend.

Love to all

Mary

Hi all. Agree with Gail. What a sweet way to acknowledge the friend we miss, while enjoying the type of art he practiced. And wouldn't he love us to party? Hope to join you there!
