Although I didn't know Jan well, I remember her smile, her positive spirit and her wonderful kick legs in the Peanuts and Walnuts Pony Choruses. She is missed.

I'm so sorry to learn of Janet's passing.  I remember a lovely young woman - always with a smile on her face.  May she rest in peace.

There are people we remember for their prominent positions or accomplishments at school. But those we know for their sweetness and smiles are those we recall with warmth in our hearts. Blessings to this sweet one and her famil. And, may the bittersweet recollections turn happier in the years to come, as her smiles glow on.

I didn't know Janet well, but my memories of her are all positive.  She was a cheerful and friendly soul.  May her spirit be blessed.  - Dale Gieringer

I was shocked  and saddened to check into this site after several years and see that Janet had died. We were very close friends during high school from the time we met in the 7th grade until we graduated and her parents moved to Colorado where her sister and family lived. Janet went to college there and I went to Indiana and then on to New York and eventually Oregon. We became intermittent correspondants and only saw each other once more when she came to visit me in Oregon 30 + years ago. We both liked the woods and reading and talking , talking, talking. She was a lot of fun to be with. WHHS being a magnet school we lived in different parts of the city and our mothers became friends schlepping us back and forth.

By the time we were Seniors in high school and trustworthy "good girls" our parents let us stay at Janet"s house while her parents were out of town. With all bad intentions we had our boyfriends to dinner and had them bring beer. We were disappointed to find that we were good girls after all, at least for a little longer.

As we came to articulate such things we found that we had the same politics and world views. Our last correspondence

Janet had a good and happy life. She had two husbands that she loved and who loved her. She  did a lot of travelling. I think her favorite country was Scotland.

I so wish she was stil dancing on this earth!                    Dee Goldman
