Ruth was my high school girlfriend.  We kept in touch on and off through the years.  She was a beautiful soul.  She passed on in 1992.  I still think of her often.

Ruth was a good friend.  When Diane and I married in 1985, she crossstiched a saying for our wedding- it hangs in our bedroom.  When my son Nick was bar mitzvah-ed in 1987, she flew from Cincinnati for the ceremony. I kept in contact with Ruth, and think of her often.

Ruth Ann and I often walked home from school together. Our walk took us passed the Blair Ave. market, where everyone would stop after school to get candy, snacks and pop. As I recall she particularly like pixie sticks while I liked anything chocolate. We'd then walk to Montgomery Rd. Walking past the cemetery, we often broke into song, harmonizing to the most current hits. The Everly Brothers' "Kathy's Clown" was a favorite. We'd practice songs we learned in choir too.

She enjoyed being part of that first class reunion committee in 1984, as well as the committee in 1989,especially since she had survived the cancer that eventually prevented her from our "50th Birthday Bash" in 1996.

Ruth Ann always had a song.

I did not know Ruth Ann well -- until the "Last Will & Prophecy" committee meetings, during which she proved to be hysterically funny!  I will let you look through the comments for her "will" on our dear Arnie Bortz!

I do remember Ruth Ann Redd quite well and miss her deeply.   She was quite an audiofile and had an excellent collection of jazz LP's.    Ruth had an expensive record turn table and speakers and she liked to listen to classic jazz recordings of Miles Davis,  John Coltrane and alto saxophonist Vi Redd.   She had a beautiful hand writing style and worked for American Airlines reservations after graduation for WHHS.   I was deeply saddened by her passing at a young age before we could enjoy one more concert together.   She could talk for hours about the black classical music called Jazz.
