LISTEN UP, CLASSMATES!  Wrong decedent.  Our Barbie Vilter was Barbara Vilter Wilson, not Barbara Watt Vilter.  Our Barbie Vilter roomed with "Barb Watt Vilter" during her one year at UC.  See Barbara Vilter Wilson's classmate profile page, which was deleted the other day when she was deemed dead.  You'll notice that the photograph attached to Barbara W. Vilter's obit is not of our Barbie.  Barbara Watt Vilter's kids, listed in her obit, are not the kids who are identified in Barara Vilter Wilson's page on our website.  Laura Reid Pease, please help!!

Steve's post confirms my memory. I wasn't at all significantly associated with any of these folks - but in assemblies etc I remember the name Barb Vilter long before any of us would have been married and for the women going by their husband's last name. I figured I had to be wrong but it appears that the reality that makes sense is exactly as Steve has laid it out. Thank you sir!

Totally different subject/topic - just a snapshot of what was going on not long after we all left WHHS and before certain rather disturbing things happened here -

Stephanie:  It was Barbara Watt Vilter (not our Barbie Vilter), rather than Barbara Vilter Wilson (our Barbie Vilter), who died.

To the Powers that Be:  (1) Please remove Barbara Watt Vilter, who is not our classmate, from the In Memoriam section; and (2) please restore Barbara Vilter Wilson, who is our classmate, to the Classmate Profile secttion.  I'd be eternally grateful.

Thank you Steve! I noticed that also and wasn't sure how to post it. Some "In Memories" are being left with one and some with the other. Yes, the profile of Barbie Vilter is up but for Barbie Watts it has been taken down it appears. It is a bit confusing but let's make sure we have the correct Barb!

There has been a bit of confusion following the death of our classmate Barbie Watt (Vilter). I hope this clarifies the misunderstanding and confirms both the In Memory post and Message Forum Obituary post for Barbara Watt (Vilter).

Barbie Watt attended WHHS through her Junior Year. Her father was transfered to Europe; Barbie then attended her Senior year and graduated from a school in Switzerland. Later, she returned to Cincinnati where she married Bill Vilter with whom she had three daughters. After being widowed at a young age, she moved to Michigan where she bought and ran a B and B with one of her daughters. (Please read Churchill McKinney In Memory post for Barbie Watt Vilter.)

Barb Vilter (Wilson) was also a WHHS classmate. She graduated with our class. Overtime, she married and had three sons. She also lives in Michigan and is alive. (Please read Barb Vilter Wilson's Classmate Profile page.)

Well now I'm really confused, but that's not so unusual these days.

Thanks to Steve for his message and to Gail for the clarification.  In any case, I remember Barbie Watt very fondly and I'm sorry to learn that she has died.

I was also among the classmates who were confused. I knew both Barbaras in high school enough to know one was Barbie Watt and the other was Barb Vilter. But, after having served on several reunion committees over these decades, I recognized the names but did not recall who was who. I am glad Barb Vilter Wilson is among the living.

I would like to let Barb Vilter Wilson know, she is now the third official member of the Mark Twain Exaggerated Death Club. The first two being Sam Engel and Alonzo Saunders, whose demises were reported to the reunion committee when we were planning our first reunion in 1984. I happened to run into Sam at Kroger shortly after the 1984 reunion.  If I recall correctly, he attended a couple of subsequent reunions and let the class know of his fondness for Samuel Langhorne Clemens's wit.  Sadly, he did pass in 2013.  The second person, Alonzo Saunders was a Jr.  Somehow his father's obituary was mistaken as Al's.  It wasn't until someone saw him in Boston during  the early 2000s, where he had been living and practicing law, that Al was resurrected in time to be listed among the living when this website was created for our virtual 50th reunion. He passed in 2018. His obituary and picture are at this link https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/bostonglobe/name/alonzo-saunders-obituary?id=1980118

If anyone is ever concerned about me, there aren't that many SHEPARDs out there spelled with one P and no H  as in HERD or HARD, and there are a hellava lot fewer RUEVEs. If that name is hyphenated, that means it is definitely me, and you can send your thoughts and farewells without any hesitation.

Thank you, Gail, for the clarification.  It's sad that anyone, whichever Barbara Vilter it may be, had to die.  So . . . , could we restore Barbara Vilter Wilson's clasmate profile, to the website?  Hers was the one that was removed.

My husband and I live streamed John Compton's memorial service on Friday. A lovely service honoring g JC. Concerning, the two Barbies, I was also friends with both and spent time in each of their homes. Barbie Watt Vilter did indeed move to Europe before our senior year. I have pictures of both Barbie's at various events and parties.
So happy that Barbie Vilter Wilson is doing well, but sorry our classmate Barbie Watt has passed away.

To clear up any remaining confusion: Barbara Vilter (Wilson)'s Profile Page was never removed. Always been there!

Thanks, Barbara Kahn (so many Barbaras!).

Gail, Barbie Vilter Wilson's profile page was deleted for several days, and the deceased icon was appended to her name on the class list.  Thanks to whoever restored it.

It appears that the "DUI" is a cover-up. The car's navigation system was hacked - but by who? And why? It's pretty suspicious that it happened in Florida right after a major political event centered on a couple of very exemplary Floridians. North Korea? Putin? We may never know.
