I'm loving the broadcast of the Talk Around. So many needed to see it.

The sound went way down about 12 minutes in, and then the whole thing stopped before the Talkaround thing.  Is there anyone else having this problem, or am I just too computer non-literate?  I am very disappointed so far that this is not working on my laptop.  Bummer.

OK, I tried again, but no go.  I am giving up on this for tonight.  We are all so dependent on computers now, and when things don't happen as they should, it is a complete drag.  Bye.

Just terrific, thanks to all who were involved in this. Don't know about many of you, but one of my feelings is I'd like to have a chance for a do over with some of those activities. Wish there was a picture or two of the Chatterbox.

Hi Janet,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with the video.

Were you using the first link (download) or the second link (streaming)?

If you want some help by phone, let me know what time is good for you and I can try to help you that way.

Richard

Congratulations on the wonderful video.  We really are a special group - on the cutting edge of so much of history.  I am so proud to be part of such an outstanding group.  Jean Snapp Miller

What a lovely, funny and poignant collage of experiences captured in these 64 minutes.  Thanks to all who worked on this so those of us MIA for so long could also join.  What fun.

Excellent job!  And those talk arounds were very informative, at times poignant, and funny.  This video captured the breadth and the depth of our class.  Just a good job.  Thanks to all.

Thank you to all of you who put this together. The video was great with a lot of insight and thought. The humor was fun. Thank you for making our 50th so much fun. All of you have made this process so inclusive!

The video came in clear and with good sound for me.  Thanks so much to all who made this possible.  I don't have as good a memory as I thought I did but I enjoyed seeing, hearing and reading about everyone.  There were always dangers but nothing like what kids face today with drugs and violence.

If anyone has not been able to view the video, please get in touch with the reunion committee for help.  You can email us at reunion@whhs64.org -- we'll help you via return email or arrange a time to help by phone.

We really want to be sure that anyone who wants to see the video has a way to do that.

Richard

The video came in great for me. It is SO fabulous, Rick and crew! I loved every minute of it. I cried through the first 10 minutes - that was so wonderful - the shots of WHHS, the perfect and fabulous music - I loved that whole opening section. And then the footage from the reunions and the talk-arounds was also terrific - funny, moving, deep, wide-ranging. I found the whole piece really transporting and evocative. Thank you so much Rick, Gail, Richard and everyone else who collaborated on this! xxx Mary

I add my thanks to all for putting together the video (and the great website - even though I haven't had time to read all the comments.) I had some trouble downloading the video - then tried streaming and saw some with some long gaps - but finally the whole video was miraculously downloaded, so I can now view it! I know I will enjoy it!

Thanks!

Becky

Fantastic video.  I had a problem getting to it too but got it easily at the second link.  Thanks to Rick and crew for putting this all together.  And thanks to each member of the Class of 64 for all of your accomplishments, big and small, for making our class the exceptional group it is.

Wait, what, Hank!  Tell us more about Levine:  what are you talking about?  As to snow days, this year in Fairfax County, Virginia, we had four snow days called on which no snow actually fell!  When my mother was at WHHS, the only day(s) the school shut down -- and, as you know, it drew students from all over the city -- between 1933 and 1939, was during the Great Flood of the Ohio in 1937 (the Cincinnati Suspension Bridge -- ask me about it, I'm one of its historians -- was the only bridge open between Pittsburgh and Cairo, Illinois, in short, the entire length of the river).

Whoops, don't let me be negligent in saying what a great video it was tonight.  Our hosts here in Washington, Bruce Fette and his wife Liz (see his Profile for a picture) made it a grand evening, and Bruce had actually made a DVD of the Reunion video for each of us!  Thank you Committee, and thank you, Bruce!

Paul:  I continue to be impressed by your discerning comments on this site.  Gun owners may be men of high calibre, but their bore is well known.

Thanks Phil. Let me return the compliment - I'm amazed at the wide range of good things human beings have done on this earth that you're interested in and can talk about in depth. About the video - I'm just knocked out by the statistics Rick quoted, how many really did what "sursum ad summum" invokes. Rose, or rather worked their way, to the top. That question Steve Kanter had about whether our generation, the heir to the world as presented to us by the "greatest generation" which fought and won World War Two, deserves what we were given to start with, at least as far as WHHS alumni goes, can be answered "yes".

I know this isn't Facebook and shouldn't be a place for political rants, but then our job isn't done. Looking around at what's going on these days, and at the knife edge that the future appears to be on, our generation's and our class's humanism is still needed.

My other comment on the video would be "More Ben Burton!!"

I loved every minute of the video last night...laughed and cried.  Thanks to the committee for all your work putting this together for us to enjoy....the talk around was fabulous...both of them.  I missed the reunion in '04....that was quite an admission from Jon Singer to Teedee....very touching and funny; hope things are okay with your wife and son!!  I am sure if the rest of us had the guts, there would be lots of admissions of "first loves".   AND I agree, we need more Ben Burton!  I remember him as being hysterical.  Also, I have seen lots of  references to Kilgour School.  Let me know who went to Kilgour....I did and I am having trouble remembering who all did from our class at WHHS.

Guys, Levine's "alleged" problems are not for this website.

Let's enjoy the moment.  That made for a spectacular evening.  Laura put it best, "I laughed, I cried..."  I was very happy to be part of it.

I'lll join the crowd in thanking all who worked on the video for putting it together.  It was so much fun watching. It so captures much of what we found special at WHHS and I suspect it can play a role in increasing attendance at our next reunion in two years (plus a few days).   I love the idea of keeping the class of '64 spirit alive online through this website during the next two years before we meet again.  Most of my friends can't believe that 75 or 100 people would go to a high school reunion and find it meaningful.

Proposed 12th grade English exam question: Compare and contrast, Whitey Davis and Archie Bunker. Can you imagine the uproar that would happen today when the iPhone video of that motivational speech went viral. Whitey himself may have been the inspiration for the advent of sensitivity training.
